Bicycle Powered Pontoon Boat
SolidWorks CAD model of a bicycle powered pontoon boat. The side frame is mounted to the pontoon and has nice connection points for the mid-frame that will support the bicycle. I then drew the mid frame and built the full assembly to have the two pontoons, mid-frame, trainer and sheaves for belt drive. I'm working on a steering mechanism that will utilize the same input as steering the mounted bicycle. The plan is to have a rudder similar to a pedal boat. This will be placed directly behind propeller for increased flow across surface area. A sheave mounted directly to the roller of the bike trainer will transmit power to the propeller through a v-belt. This project is not yet complete, as I am considering remaking the midframe with round tubing. See the following slides for a portion of the process:

Mountain Bike Design Project
This CAD model will ultimately be used to aid in the design of a frame jig/ fixture, so I can learn how to fillet braze and TIG weld my own frames. I do not plan to physically build this mountain bike. This is for the sole purpose of making mistakes, learning and designing a better frame next time. I plan to experiment with Autodesk Fusion360 in future designs, to go through this process with completely free software.
Ever since I started working on bicycles, I gained interest in designing and building them. I wanted to go through the process of setting of the geometry with BikeCAD and then design this frame using SolidWorks. For my first model, I thought it would be fun to design a hardtail with 130mm travel and horizontal dropouts to be able to run single speed.
